We engaged Peter Bodeker to act as our builder in a major renovation of our home in Mosman Park. Peter was recommended by Jody Fewster of Acton Cottesloe, who acted as our agent when purchasing the home whilst we were overseas. He was also recommended by some of our friends who had renovated their home in Cottesloe. Peter was able to introduce us to a local architect and he also managed the approvals process with the local council. The renovation took around 18 months to complete, in a couple of stages. Throughout this period, Peter was able to provide his expertise and contacts to identify the best suppliers and tradespeople to undertake the required works. A builder is only as good as the tradespeople he employs, and this is what stands Peter Bodeker Constructions apart. Across all the various trades we encountered, Peter has identified highly capable individuals, who approach their work with professionalism and a respectful manner. The building/renovation process is one which inevitably involves problems or unexpected issues, but Peter manages these challenges with calm resolve. Problems are fixed, without unnecessary angst. Working with Peter to create a beautiful home for our family, was a pleasure. I would highly recommend Peter to anyone considering a renovation or new build.

Excellent after sales service
Thanks a lot Peter for a fantastic job renovating our house in Swanbourne.... on time and on budget. Also excellent after sales service, Peter sorted out a few minor issues after completion of the job without any fuss and in a timely and professional manner.

Throughout the substantial extension of our property, Peter Bodeker has been straightforward, uncomplicated and exceptionally professional. He and his team have been consistently polite, respectful and very responsive. We would have no hesitation in recommending Peter Bodeker Construction as an efficient and reliable, quality builder.

Working with Peter means the job never drags on. You always feel like he is in control – he’s efficient, pleasant to work with and his tradesmen are very good. What I love about Peter, however, is that he follows your specifications and guidelines, and he understands your vision. For those little things that aren’t specified, I know and trust that Peter will make the right decision – he has a discerning eye when it comes to those little additional choices.
Within budget and time
Peter and I have been working together for about seven years. He is very reliable, a good communicator and jobs are usually on time and on budget – the latter of which is rare. Peter also especially gets traditional-style homes – he loves a sense of history and understands timber. As an architect, something important for me when doing alterations and additions to people’s homes is a builder who has lovely tradesmen. They have got to be respectful of the fact it is someone’s home. Peter’s trades always are, which is wonderful.
We worked with Peter from the tender process to handing over the keys. Our lead person was John Forde. He was our site superviser and he and the Peter Bodeker team were incredibly accessible. Renovating is a stressful experience, but Peter Bodeker Construction worked with our architect and kept coming up with solutions so that we never felt out of control. Their work speaks for them and they make the process easy.

Peter was recommended to me and now I regularly recommend him. We underwent a major renovation on a heritage property over two years, so had tradies onsite six days a week. But it was a wonderful experience. One of the best things about Peter is his tradies – they were terrific people. So I installed a punch-key lock, gave Peter the code and allowed them free access to my house – that is a big thing. I will be using Peter again on another project, and friends of mine have signed him up, too.

Trustworthy and ethical
Very friendly, amicable, no ego… Peter Bodeker Construction has a high standard and is a very ethical builder. In fact, Peter was a very good tradesman when he first started out, so he’s instilled that good work ethic into his construction business. He and his team are always open to direction and work with the architect to ensure the original vision is met. Collaboration and communication are key, and issues are sorted out as quickly and easily as possible. As an architect, I don’t need to be onsite when Peter is on the job – I trust he can work largely unsupervised; from a heritage point of view, I trust that Peter will do the right thing and not cut corners. He is diligent and competent in his building. Peter is someone I recommend to my clients.
Absolutely collaborative, highly organised and very responsive – if we had a query or concern, it was followed up and we heard back straightaway. Being informed is so important and that was done really well. Even after we finished building, any follow-up was dealt with very quickly. It has been an excellent experience.

Ahead of schedule and under budget!
It’s easy to deal with Peter as he clearly communicated and delivered what he said he would. Three months ahead of schedule and twenty percent under budget! I have recommended Peter to anyone we know who is building.

They kept any mess confined – very important when living in the house. All tradesmen gave us good advice about available products and listened to what we wanted. Everyone who came to the house was pleasant and tidy.

We received prompt updates on where the job was at and there were no big delays (these can be extremely stressful). All the trades work was of an extremely high standard. All were friendly and willing to communicate.
